We're having an issue backing up one particular file ("file is in use" error) in the doors database. The file is: \data\v6data\relData\store.rdb-journal. It is a 0 byte file. Does anyone know what the file does, or why it wouldn't allow us to back it up? |

Re: DOORS 9 - What is the purpose of the new relData folder and its content kbmurphy - Fri Sep 25 16:42:03 EDT 2009 I believe this file exists as part of the database indexing and is in use while the DOORS 9.x service is running on the server. It would likely only be backup capable if you stopped the DOORS service backed up the relData folder and files. And then restart the DOORS 9.x service. Problem then becomes, you don't really want to stop & start the DOORS service every night due to many users get into the bad habit of staying logged in overnight and booting users from DOORS if they have not saved daily work tends to get messy. I suggest you submit the question to IBM Rational DOORS Support to get the best info on how to properly handle that folder and files for backup purposes. Hope this helps... gsdguy |
